Operation Spring Plant FarmerXFarmer Cohort Announcement
Operation Spring Plant, Inc. is facilitating a monthly Farmer-2-Farmer Network meeting to address your questions, issues and concerns. Please read below for various times to connect over the next week. These are introductory calls for interest and orientation. You only need to call in for one of the sessions, according to the best time for you.
It will be a virtual meeting via ZOOM, however there is also a call-in option. If you prefer you can call in and participate that way.

We look forward to supporting you as owners and operators of your farm operation, through education, innovative technical assistance, creative financial assistance and information sharing to sustain your operation.

The FarmerXFarmer Cohort employs a comprehensive participatory approach. Our participatory methodology is crucial to ensure that the impacts of this project are sustainable and replicable.

Through the proposed FarmerXFarmer Cohort network, Operation Spring Plant will:

Provide new and beginning organic/agroecological farmers comprehensive culturally and linguistically appropriate curriculum-based farm training that is both culturally and linguistically appropriate to new and beginning organic/agroecological Socially Disadvantaged Farmers and Ranchers (SDFR’s), youth, and farmworkers who are, or seek to become, organic/agroecological producers aimed at improving their capacity to engage in economically viable farming operations;
Increase and solidify our existing network of organic/agroecological farmers as a participatory network that will build its collective knowledge about USDA programs (and the capacity to access them), and serve as mentors and advocates for other organic/agroecological SDFR’s identified through outreach and farm activities;
Facilitate farm exchanges or working visits that will provide farm participants with opportunity to apply knowledge gained through farm training in an applied manner and under guidance of Operation Spring Plant and FarmerXFarmer farmers;
Provide new/beginning farmer participants tools and information to test market strategies in a well-supported environment; and refer and facilitate the access of resources that benefit new and beginning farmers.
